Ja’Naya, one of our CCChampions kids, can easily be described as a firecracker! She is bright, creative, talkative, and energetic. When we were looking for a friend for Ja’Naya, we knew we would need to find someone who could match her energy and keep up with her jokes. Luckily, we didn’t have to look too far. We matched Ja’Naya with our very own Intern/Friendship Assistant, Ally, a Psychology/Business student at the University of Pittsburgh.
Ally’s warm, silly personality allowed Ja’Naya to quickly open up to her. Ally visits Ja’Naya during her regular Wednesday visits to the clinic!
In addition to sharing in creative endeavors, such as making masterpieces out of duct tape and carefully weaving beautiful friendship bracelets, they can be found swapping stories about their families, talking about their favorite music, TV shows, and foods. Recently, Ally snuck some math practice into her visit with Ja’Naya when she taught her how to play Yahtzee.
Ja’Naya and Ally eagerly look forward to their visits. When they spend time together their smiles are so big it is hard to decide who is having the most fun.
It's a special friendship, and one that we've loved watching grow. Go Ja'Naya & Ally!
